About Flare Physics AI

Flare Physics AI follows one project closely: the foundation model for collider physics that CERN and Mistral AI agreed to build in October 2026, which Reuters calls Flare. Around it we cover the wider work on AI models trained on physics data, from jets at the LHC to weather and the Sun.

When the announcement came, there was the press release, a news report, and not much else. Nobody was keeping track of what had actually been said, what hadn't, and what the field had already published. So we do: a timeline, a papers tracker, a comparison of physics AI models and plain pages on the physics behind it, each fact linked to its source.

We are independent. We aren't CERN, Mistral AI or any experiment, nobody there approves what we write, and we have no inside information. When we don't know something, we say so.

How we work

Every figure on this site comes from a source we link to: the maker, the regulator, the government or published research or reviews. We check pages regularly, and each page shows the date it was last updated. If you spot something wrong or out of date, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

We don't accept payment to change what we say about a product, and we never claim to have tested something we haven't.
